Sports Illustrated’s Stewart Mandel Joins Fox Sports

Noted college football and basketball writer Stewart Mandel will be joining Fox Sports.com as a national columnist. Mandel who has gained a very good reputation as a reporter and writer. He joins “Free” Bruce Feldman and Clay Travis on the FoxSports.com team and will make appearances on Fox Sports 1 and other network platforms.

He’s covered multiple BCS National Championship Games and NCAA Final Fours.

Mandel Will Be Senior Columnist Focusing on College Football and College Basketball

New York – Stewart Mandel, one of the nation’s leading college football and basketball writers, will join FOXSports.com as a senior columnist, it was announced today. He will make his FOXSports.com debut in July.

“FOX Sports is one of the dominant media companies in college sports today,” said Mandel. “FOXSports.com is a great platform for me to continue writing compelling stories to reach a rabid college sports fan base.”

Mandel joins Bruce Feldman, one of the nation’s leading college football journalists, and Clay Travis, long-time SEC blogger and outspoken TV and radio personality, in comprising a team for FOX Sports that rivals that of any other covering college football today.

Mandel joins FOXSports.com from Sports Illustrated, where he was a senior writer for SI.com and where he frequently contributed to the magazine. “College Football Mailbag” and “College Football Overtime” were among his most popular features. During his career, Mandel has covered 15 BCS national championship games and eight Final Fours.

Mandel’s first book, Bowls, Polls and Tattered Souls: Tackling the Chaos and Controversy That Reign Over College Football, was published in 2007. In 2008, he took first place (enterprise category) and second place (game story) in the Football Writers Association of America’s annual writing contest. He also placed first in the 2005 contest (columns).

Mandel graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in journalism.
