The National Football League has released the preseason game schedule for August 2014. We expect the regular season to be announced sometime next week.
In the meantime, this will hold us over. CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC will each televise two preseason games. This is a break from the past when ESPN would air four games and the others would average between two and three games.
NFL Network will air all of the other preseason games.
NBC begins everything with the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, OH on Sunday, August 3 at 8 p.m. as Buffalo takes on the New York Football Giants. NBC’s other preseason game will be on Sunday, August 24 at 8 p.m. as the Cincinnati Bengals play Arizona at University of Phoenix Stadium which is the site of Super Bowl XLIX. Coincidentally, NBC will air Super Bowl XLIX in February 2015.
As usual, all of the nationally televised games among CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC will be seen in the first three weeks of the preseason.

2014 PRESEASON SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
The NFL’s slate of eight nationally televised preseason games will feature eight 2013 playoff teams, one of the highlights of the 65-game 2014 NFL preseason schedule announced today.
The 2014 preseason will kick off on Sunday, August 3 (NBC, 8:00 PM ET) in Canton, Ohio when the Buffalo Bills face the New York Giants in the NFL/Hall of Fame Game.
The San Francisco 49ers will play in the new Levi’s Stadium on national TV when the club hosts the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, August 24 (FOX, 4:00 PM ET).
Later that evening, the Arizona Cardinals will host the Cincinnati Bengals (NBC, 8:00 PM ET) at University of Phoenix Stadium, which will be the home of both the 2015 Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XLIX.
