CBS SPORTS’ DOUBLEHEADER ACTION SCORES RATINGS INCREASES IN REGIONAL AND NATIONAL WINDOWS FOR WEEK 14 COVERAGE
Overall, after 14 weeks of the NFL season, ratings for THE NFL ON CBS are up 4% from last year with an average overnight household rating/share of 11.8/24 versus an 11.4/23 in 2008.
THE NFL ON CBS’s national window on Sunday, Dec. 13 featuring San Diego at Dallas was CBS’s highest-rated NFL game of the 2009 season and the Network’s highest-rated game since Week 14 of the 2007 season (18.4/33 on 12/09/07). CBS Sports’ coverage of San Diego-Dallas earned an average overnight household rating/share of 16.5/31, up 1% compared to a 16.3/28 in last year’s national window in Week 13.
The average overnight household rating/share in the regional window (1:00 PM, ET) earned an 12.6/26, up 52% compared to last year’s 8.3/17 for Week 13’s regional window for doubleheader games on THE NFL ON CBS. The early regional window was highlighted by Cincinnati at Minnesota, Denver at Indianapolis, New York Jets at Tampa Bay, Buffalo at Kansas City and Miami at Jacksonville.
I’m sure later this week, the NFL will be touting Week 14’s ratings.
