CBS Sports Network Changes Channel Position on DirecTV

With Fox Sports 1 signing onto DirecTV, this is a piece of news that comes from CBS Sports Network. The 24 hour cable extension of CBS Sports moves from the 600’s on DirecTV to channel 221. CBS Sports Network had been part of DirecTV’s Sports Pack and Choice Extra packages.

DirecTV now moves to a channel position that puts it near ESPN at channel 206, Fox Sports 1 at 219 and NBCSN (formerly NBC Sports Network) at channel 220. The move takes place on Wednesday, August 21.

CBS Sports Network, the 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports, is moving to channel 221 on DIRECTV beginning Wednesday, August 21.

Formerly located at channel 613, CBS Sports Network is part of DIRECTV’s CHOICE EXTRA and SPORTS PACK packages.

CBS Sports Network is available to more than 99 million households across the country. The Network airs more than 350 live games annually, showcasing an array of men’s and women’s sports, as well as in-depth studio shows, documentaries and original programs. CBS Sports Network’s programming is highlighted by college sports with the Network scheduled to air over 50 college football games this season, complemented by comprehensive week-long studio programming.

CBS Sports Network also provides extensive shoulder programming around CBS Sports’ Championship events, including the Super Bowl, The Masters, PGA Championship and US Open Tennis Championships. The Network serves as the national television home for the Arena Football League (AFL) and Professional Bull Riders (PBR), and features myriad other sports, including professional lacrosse and AVP beach volleyball.  Weekday news and commentary shows include ROME, LEAD OFF and the TIM BRANDO SHOW.
