CBC will have coverage of two series in the NHL Conference Semifinal round. It’ll naturally pick up the Vancouver-Nashville series and its main team of Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson will be up top with Glenn Healey sitting in between the benches. Scott Oake will be the on-site reporter for Hockey Night in Canada.
The other series that falls to CBC now that the Montreal Canadiens are out will be Boston-Philadelphia to be called by Bob Cole and Gary Galley with Elliotte Friedman reporting. One note, CBC will not air Game 2 of Boston-Philly, giving that to TSN while it covers the Canadian national elections on Monday. In exchange, CBC will air Game 2 of the Tampa Bay-Washington series on Sunday.

In its place, CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA will air Game Two of the Washington (#1) / Tampa Bay (#5) series on Sunday, May 1 at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT.
The puck drops on Thursday, April 28 at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT with the Western Conference Semifinal series opener between Vancouver and Nashville. Play-by-play man Jim Hughson and analyst Craig Simpson will call the series with Scott Oake reporting from rinkside and Glenn Healy between the benches as Roberto Luongo and the Canucks look to continue their quest for the Stanley Cup versus Shea Weber and the Predators.
The Eastern Conference Semifinals get underway on Saturday, April 30, at 3 p.m. ET/ 12 noon PT as the Philadelphia Flyers and veteran Chris Pronger square off against the Boston Bruins and goaltender Tim Thomas. Bob Cole will call this Eastern Conference Semifinal best-of-seven series alongside analyst Garry Galley, while Elliotte Friedman reports from ice level. Hockey Tonight returns to CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA that night at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT to set up Game Two of the Canucks/Predators series.
Each night during Round Two, Ron MacLean hosts CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA coverage of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs along with Don Cherry, Mike Milbury, Kelly Hrudey and P.J. Stock. Cherry, Hrudey and Stock will join MacLean in-studio throughout the second round to provide insight and analysis of all the Conference Semifinal series.
