Jim Williams of the DC/Baltimore Examiner says TNT’s Charles Barkley helps to make a regular telecast interesting.

Darren Rovell of CNBC has a new addition to his sports business blog and he discusses the Mark Cuban foray into a proposed new fall football league. While I made the comparison to the USFL last night, Rovell makes the comparison to the XFL which was a colossal failure. And he also mentions another failed competitor, the World Football League of the 1970’s.

Can you believe ESPN/ABC will show the National Spelling Bee tonight? The hosts will be Mike & Mike of ESPN Radio. I don’t think this should be televised, but Disney spends a lot of money and that helps to fund the competition.
