Around the Horn’s Tony Reali To Join Good Morning America

This according to the Hollywood Reporter, Around the Horn host Tony Reali will be joining Good Morning America as a social media contributor.

Reali will remain as host of ATH, but move to New York to be a part of GMA. He will leave Pardon the Interruption on which he was originally known as “Stat Boy” since 2001. Reali took over as host of Around the Horn in 2004 after Max Kellerman left.

The Reporter says Reali signed a new contract with ESPN that allows him to expand his role with the Disney Corporation to GMA. Reali tells the Reporter that he’ll likely appear on GMA two to three days a week.

With the move to New York, it’s not known how this affect the show’s staff some of which also work on PTI which is based in Washington, DC.

When Around the Horn moves, it will be based in ABC’s Times Square Studios where ESPN2’s “Olbermann” also originates.

And for GMA, it’s another hire from the sports media world. Robin Roberts came from ESPN as did Josh Elliott whom as you know by now is moving back into sports with his departure for NBC. Michael Strahan of Fox NFL Sunday and Live with Kelly and Michael was hired last week to be part of GMA’s first hour and now Reali.

It’s an interesting hire for GMA, but one that solidifies Reali with the Disney Corporation for quite some time.
