CBS/Turner Sports Unveil Announcer Lineup for NCAA Tournament

The CBS/Turner consortium formed for the NCAA Tournament for this season and beyond have provided the announcer lineup for this season. Familiar CBS names include Jim Nantz, Gus Johnson, Verne Lundquist, Ian Eagle and Spero Dedes. Kevin Harlan who works for both departments will also have a role. Coming over from Turner are Marv Albert, Steve Kerr who will join Nantz and Clark Kellogg on the Final Four, and Reggie Miller.

It also means the return of sideline reporters and you’ll see Craig Sager’s mean wardrobe along with CBS veterans Sam Ryan, Lesley Visser and Tracy Wolfson.

Marv and Kerr will call a regional final.

In the studio, Ernie Johnson, Jr. and Greg Gumbel will share hosting duties and will be joined by Greg Anthony, Charles Barkley and Kenny “The Jet” Smith. We’ll see Seth Davis later in the tournament along with Reggie in the studio. Interesting combos. Let’s take a look at what we have for you.

CBS Sports and Turner Sports have combined their talent rosters to form an all-star line-up of announcers for coverage of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, it was announced today by David Levy, President of Sales, Distribution and Sports, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. and Sean McManus, President, CBS News and Sports. The line-up is the latest enhancement to tournament coverage as part of the 14-year agreement between the NCAA, CBS and Turner which will provide live, full national coverage of the championship’s 67 games across multiple platforms for the first time.
The championship tips-off with the NCAA FIRST FOUR on truTV Tuesday, March 15, with Jim Nantz, Clark Kellogg and Steve Kerr calling the action, with Tracy Wolfson courtside.
