Local Ratings For LCS In Dallas, NYC, Philly and San Francisco Good

Just received a press release from MLB regarding the local ratings for yesterday’s action for the League Championship Series. We don’t have national numbers yet, but I’m sure they’ll be coming shortly. This is what we have for now thanks to the Major League Baseball Public Relations department. Take a look at the numbers especially in Dallas, Philly and San Francisco. I want to write “San Fran”, but several Bay Area natives have threatened me with death if they see it on the blog. Bay Area residents can be quite militant.

EXCITEMENT BUILDING AS TEAMS FIGHT FOR WORLD SERIES BERTH
Through six days and nine games, 2010 LCS coverage on FOX and TBS continues to generate the highest combined television ratings and viewership levels since 2006. And with the Giants and Rangers both one game away from the World Series and the two most recent World Series champions, the Phillies and Yankees, fighting to stay alive in the LCS, the enthusiasm locally is producing record television ratings in all four markets.
Last night’s NLCS Game 4 on FOX registered a 23.3 rating in San Francisco, the highest rating for any MLB game in the market since Game 4 of the 2004 World Series. In Philadelphia, the game drew a 29.8 rating, helping drive the 2010 NLCS to the best four-game average NLCS rating in the market during the Phillies’ current three-year run.
Yesterday’s ALCS Game 5 on TBS, which started at 4:00 p.m. ET, registered an 18.4 local rating in Dallas and a 12.9 local rating in New York, the best rating for an afternoon MLB game in both markets this year.

So you can see the local ratings from the Final Four MLB teams are excellent.
