Jack Buck’s Post 9/11 Poem

You may remember 12 years ago after 9/11 occurred, sports took a back seat and many games were canceled in the week following. Baseball was the first professional sport to return. When sports returned, people were ready and the late Jack Buck who was a World War II veteran, wrote a poem on the night the St. Louis Cardinals resumed play.

Buck had the right words for the occasion and I thought it would be appropriate to post it on this Day of Remembrance.

Always good to see and hear Jack’s words and give pause on this day.
