Ah, Mad Men is back. It feels right.
In the premiere episode, we see that Don has married Megan, Joan has given birth and is struggling if Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Pryce wants her to return. Peggy is still feeling unappreciated. Pete is still ambitious. Roger is well, Roger and Bert Cooper remains Bert Cooper.
And what series creator Matthew Wiener didn’t want you to know before the premiere is that Season 5 takes place in the year 1966, just as the 1960′s was about to become a powderkeg both socially and politically. This episode meshes where the decade was heading.
Let’s take a look at the two-hour premiere episode with Matthew Wiener, Jon Hamm, Vincent Kartheiser, Christina Hendricks, Elisabeth Moss and Jessica Paré.
Costume designer Janie Bryant talks about the fashion worn in tonight’s episode.
And typical of Matt Wiener, he won’t allow AMC to provide a sneak peek at next week’s episode. If AMC provides a preview for episode 504 next week, I’ll be sure to post it in next week’s recap.
In the meantime, we’ll be back next week with more AMC-Mad Men videos.
