I'd throw in Strahan in worst studio analyst to be honest, adds nothing insightful just plays off everyone else.
not a lot of love for CBS. I think CBS has the deepest lineup and the best studio show.
But I'd like to hear your reasons for nominating FOX, NBC, and NFL Network as "Most Valuable Network" and the reasons why ESPN and CBS were not included.
Both ESPN\’s and CBS\’ ratings were down this season. I felt both networks had down years.
While NBC\’s was also down, they added value and games to the SNF package.
Fox and NFL Network were the only networks that saw their ratings go up this season. Plus NFL Network greatly improved its Thursday Night Football presentation this season.
After Saturday's Patriots-Dolphins call, I feel like you could add Dan Fouts to the "Worst Game Analyst" mix. He didn't add anything to the broadcast and what he did contribute bordered on the just plain silly. But maybe I was just catching the bad points while switching back and forth between that game and NFL Red Zone.
Aikman should have been included as worst game analyst. A more boring, meaningless, dry, and just plain uninformative analyst we do not get deluged with on a weekly basis. Aikman would far better serve the American football viewer by becoming exclusively a fulltime sheepherder in rural Oklahoma. Listening to Aikman is worse than watching manure dry in the ceaselessly hot Oklahoma sun.
Anything ESPN is bad. Other than Tirico, I cant stand anyone else on that network. Just awful. If you agree you can email Al Jaffe himself.
Forgot to add Tony Siragusa is the worst sideline reporter I've ever seen. Would like to nominate Tony Sira-douchebag please.
I like the energy that Michael Irvin brings to the NFL Network. He does a good job on Gameday Morning…I think Dan Dierdorf is the worst Analyst on game broadcasts. And I think commenter "Mike" is way off about Aikman, he is very knowledgable on his broadcasts.
"Aikman should have been included as worst game analyst." Couldn't agree more, Mike. Absolutely the most monotone and boring analyst on television.
However, I was very glad to see Cris Carter mentioned. He was one of the worst Yahoo analyst – always the least correct in guessing the outcome of weekly games.
is there any way to compute ratings with a factor of when the viewer turns down the sound on the TV and listens to the radio broadcast? that has to count against the broadcast somehow. Most of the NFL games on my TV on Sunday afternoons involve the 2 NY teams…Jets games, I usually like listening to the broadcast teams calling their games on CBS, and Giants games, I usually like listening to the radio broadcast team when their game is on FOX. I can't say I've watched many games aside from my local teams.
Listening to Shannon Sharpe is like watching an "Amos and Andy" show. He makes Michael Irvin and Deon Saners fsound like Sir Lawrence Olivier.
