There could be as many as two Wild Card Playoff games on Thursday. Both games have already been slotted. If the Red Sox and Rays end up tied, that game will be played Thursday afternoon in St. Petersburg at 4 p.m. ET.
And if the National League requires a tiebreaker between Atlanta and St. Louis, that game will start at 8 p.m. in the Gateway City to the West.
TBS will have both games.
And then the next day, Friday, the American League Division Series begins. We have the schedules from TBS for the games on Thursday and Friday. The press release is below.
TBS, the exclusive home for the four Division Series and National League Championship Series, is scheduled to air both potential wild card tiebreaker games on Thursday, Sept. 29.
If a game between the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays is necessary to determine the American League Wild Card, then Thursday’s first pitch at Tropicana Field will be scheduled for 4:07 p.m. (ET) on TBS.
If a game between the Atlanta Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals is necessary to determine the National League Wild Card, then Thursday’s first pitch at Busch Stadium will be scheduled for 8:07 p.m. (ET)/7:07 p.m. (CT) on TBS.
Friday’s ALDS Game Ones are set to open up on TBS with the first pitch times of 5:07 p.m. (ET) and 8:37 p.m. (ET). The 5:07 p.m. (ET) game will feature either Boston or Tampa Bay playing at either Texas or Detroit. The 8:37 p.m. (ET) game will feature either the Rangers or the Tigers playing the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
The complete Division Series schedule will be released when it is available.
