Today, Keith Thibault of Sports Media Journal took the opportunity to have Steven Bennett, one of the hosts of the SportsCasters podcast on the Sports Media Weekly podcast. But before we get to that, I’ll go over what Keith and I discussed during our News of the Week segment.

We first exchanged our thoughts on Blogs with Balls 4 and talked about what we liked about the conference.

Then we went on to talk about the story of the NFL deciding not to award rights to an 8 game Thursday Night package this year and waiting until next year to do so.

We also looked at the ratings for the NFL which are up again.

In addition, we talked about the announcing teams for TBS for the upcoming MLB Postseason. Then we went on to talk about the NHL Winter Classic, the NFL Films documentary on Bill Belichick and the ESPN Films doc on Steve Bartman.

Our guest this week is Steven Bennett, one of the hosts of the Sports-Casters podcast. We asked him about his podcast, how he gets the guests for the show, media coverage in Western New York where Steven is from, abuse from Time Warner Cable in Western New York and how social networking plays a role in the popularity of the podcast.
