Baseball Tonight’s New Sunday Features
Last week, ESPN’s signature baseball highlights show, Baseball Tonight, began its traveling road show to all Sunday Night Baseball sites. Last Sunday, it was Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. This week, it’ll be Fenway Park in Boston. In addition, ESPN introduced several new features like John Kruk looking for the best seat in the park and the best food, a ballpark tour by Barry Larkin and a preview of the game with analysts Bobby Valentine and Orel Hershiser. New Segments Debut on Baseball Tonight Sunday Road Shows
John Kruk Selects “Best Seat in House” & Top Ballpark Food Each Week
ESPN’s Baseball Tonight debuted its first road show – a new season-long initiative – Sunday, April j 3, live from Dodger Stadium. ESPN televises two episodes of Baseball Tonight each Sunday – 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET. The show, hosted by Karl Ravech with analysts John Kruk and Barry Larkin, Sunday Night Baseball’s Orel Hershiser and Bobby Valentine, and reporters Wendi Nix and Buster Olney, will continue this week with a stop on Yawkey Way (immediately outside Fenway Park) for Sunday Night Baseball’s telecast (April 10) featuring the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees at 8 p.m.
Baseball Tonight continues to focus on delivering comprehensive highlights, news and information. Additionally, several new elements have been introduced within the 7 p.m. show:
§ a special closing segment with Kruk selecting his “best seat in the house” and choosing his favorite ballpark food (he selected the Doyer Dog at Dodger Stadium);
§ a tour of the ballpark grounds and/or field demo by Larkin;
§ discussion on pertinent ballpark-specific topics;
§ a preview of the SNB game with analysts Hershiser and Valentine and reporters Nix and Olney;
§ a venue or team-specific feature by Nix.Baseball Tonight’s 12:30 p.m. edition, hosted by Ravech with Olney, presents news and information from around the league, including reports and analysis from a deep roster of ESPN commentators.
Baseball Tonight will be on the road for the following Sunday Night Baseball games to start the season:

Mets at Philadelphia May 8 Atlanta at Philadelphia May 15 Boston at N.Y. Yankees May 22 Chicago Cubs at Boston May 29 Cincinnati at Atlanta (ESPN2) Dan Shulman, Hershiser and Valentine form the new Sunday Night Baseball commentator team. ESPN Radio also has a new Sunday Night Baseball broadcast tandem, with Jon Sciambi providing commentary with analyst Chris Singleton. Sunday Night games are also available via ESPN Deportes, ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV.
