News With A Twist or Let’s Build a Bar Set

Going off the beaten path to show you something quite different. A news show set around a bar with different graphics and a conversational style, instead of the “Voice of God”, stuck at the anchor desk. You may recognize former CNN correspondent Susan Roegsen. I never thought I would see a news anchor be labeled as “LBJ” (LeBron Joseph). KGNO in New Orleans decided to call this, “News with a Twist” and it certainly gives a new spin to the news. It may or may not work, but I give the station credit for trying something different. We even have the first segment of this experimental newscast which premiered Monday.

It’s definitely quite different. Dave Walker of the New Orleans Times-Picayune has a look at this unconventional newscast.
