DEVELOPING: Erin Andrews Staying At ESPN?

by , under Erin Andrews, ESPN

Word is developing that Erin Andrews could be staying at ESPN. The Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand tweeted tonight that the co-author of a new book on the Alleged Worldwide Leader, Jim Miller, is reporting that Erin is remaining at the network.

Miller and Tom Shales of the Washington Post teamed up on a definitive history of NBC’s Saturday Night Live and are pairing up this time for the book on ESPN. Both have a good reputation so we’ll see if this report comes to fruition.

On July 1st, Erin’s current contract with ESPN expires and there has been speculation that she could leave the network for a higher profile gig in entertainment, especially in the wake of her appearance on Dancing with the Stars earlier this year that rocketed her to stardom.

SportsbyBrooks delved into this further and according to the blog, no agreement has been signed. However, according to SbB, Andrews’ new contract with ESPN would allow her to make endorsements that could keep her profile raised in the entertainment world. We’ll see how this goes.

If ESPN does sign Erin, it would mean that two high profile personalities would be remaining under the fold. Earlier this year, the network re-signed Chris Berman to keep him with the Mothership. If the news about Erin Andrews is true, then ESPN would be two for two in talent re-signings this year.
